Verse of the day: Matthew 15 vs 17-20
The Core of Purity
It is now widely accepted that what we eat does not make us spiritually unclean. Some might even say, as long as food isn’t tainted by charms or dark practices, you’re in the clear.
"Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man." (Matthew 15:11)
Let's unpack that.
When a person speaks, their words are born from the core of their being. Every word, no matter how small, is rooted in thoughts that have taken shape deep within. Good or evil actions and thoughts originate from the heart, and it is from this inner place that we reveal who we truly are.
Can anyone live without consciousness? Of course not—our consciousness defines us. If it becomes corrupted, then our actions, too, are corrupted. After all, you cannot pluck oranges from an apple tree.
As Christ taught us,
"You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit." (Matthew 7:16-17)
God’s people act in a Godly manner, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide not only their actions but also their minds and hearts. Therefore, we must be mindful of our thoughts, as they stem from our innermost being and often manifest in our actions. If we allow evil to take root in our hearts, we defile ourselves.
Thankfully, we serve a merciful Father, who has the power to cleanse us—but we must be willing.
Never give up the fight.
Simple Lessons
The core of our being is where our thoughts are formed.
Pray for the guarding of your heart and thoughts, so they are not invaded or corrupted by evil.
It is more important to guard what you think than what you eat when striving for spiritual purity.
Glory be to our Perfect Father in Jesus Name.
Hosanna!
True Christianity is when we knowingly allow the love of Jesus Christ to constantly manifest in our thoughts and actions toward other people. ... Uche Ephraim Chuku
